Faith-Based Mediation & Spiritual Support Services

The Islamic Tribunal provides voluntary, non-binding religious guidance for individuals and families who seek faith-based support rooted in Islamic ethical principles. Our role is pastoral and spiritual, designed to promote reflection, emotional well-being, improved communication, and mutual understanding during personal or family challenges.

All legal matters — including civil divorce, custody, inheritance, and financial or civil disputes — must be handled through licensed attorneys or the appropriate state courts. Our services do not replace any legal process.

1. Religious Guidance for Marital Matters (Including Religious Divorce)

We offer non-binding religious guidance for couples experiencing difficulties and wishing to explore faith-based perspectives on reconciliation, communication, or separation.

For individuals seeking religious divorce (including khula), we may:

  • provide spiritual counseling
  • issue, when appropriate, a non-binding religious decision confirming religious divorce for spiritual purposes only

Any written religious divorce confirmation is issued solely for spiritual purposes and may not be used as a civil divorce decree or legal determination.

All civil divorce procedures must be completed through state courts. A religious divorce:

  • does not constitute a civil divorce
  • does not decide property, custody, or support
  • is only relevant for religious status and eligibility for remarriage within Islamic teachings

2. Family and Community Faith-Based Support

We provide a respectful, confidential space for families or community members who wish to discuss interpersonal concerns. Our role is to help participants reflect on Islamic ethical values and to encourage improved communication and understanding.

We may offer religious mediation in a purely spiritual sense, but:

  • we do not issue binding settlements
  • we do not determine legal responsibility
  • we do not enforce outcomes

3. Ethical and Spiritual Guidance for Personal Concerns

We offer non-binding spiritual perspectives for individuals facing personal disagreements or challenges. This service aims to help community members find clarity, emotional balance, and peace through Islamic teachings.

We do not address commercial, business, or legal disputes in a binding way.
In business or financial disagreements, the Islamic Tribunal may provide faith-based guidance only. We do not issue rulings, determine financial responsibility, or decide outcomes. Any insights we offer relate solely to Islamic ethical principles and have no legal authority or civil enforceability.

4. Educational Guidance on Islamic Inheritance Principles

We provide educational explanations of Islamic perspectives on inheritance for those seeking religious understanding. This service is strictly educational.

We do not:

  • divide assets
  • assign shares
  • draft legal documents
  • participate in any legal, financial, or estate-related decision making

Important Service Disclaimer

The Islamic Tribunal does not:

  • issue legal rulings
  • provide legal advice
  • represent clients in legal matters
  • divide estates or assets
  • replace the U.S. judicial system
  • enforce decisions
  • function as a legal authority or civil court

All outcomes and recommendations are voluntary, non-binding religious suggestions only.
