
Dr / Bassam Obeid,
Founding Member • Faith-Based Consultant.
Dr. Bassam Obeid is one of the founding members of the Islamic Tribunal and has dedicated many years to Islamic education and community service. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies, a Master's in Islamic Studies, and a Bachelor's in Sharia (Islamic Law) from the Islamic University of Madinah. He also holds Ijazah and Sanad in Quranic recitations (Aasim & Ibn Katheer) from Qatar.
He has served as Head Imam at the Islamic Center of Charlotte, NC, for over two decades, and previously as Imam and teacher at the Islamic Center of Tucson, AZ. He has also taught and led Islamic institutions in Qatar, Pakistan, and Lebanon. Dr. Obeid is an expert in the four schools of Fiqh, family counseling, arbitration, and mediation.
Within the Islamic Tribunal, Dr. Obeid's role is entirely pastoral and advisory, offering non-binding religious insights while respecting all state and federal laws. He does not provide legal services or issue legal rulings.
